talkSPORT broadcaster Alan Brazil has said that Lucas Moura will demand a transfer if he’s dropped for the Champions League final.

Tottenham play Liverpool in the final on June 1 in Madrid and there’s increasing speculation that striker Harry Kane will be fit to play.

Kane hasn’t played since April when he limped out of the Champions League quarter-final against Man City. Since then, Moura has stepped up to the plate, scoring a second-half hat-trick in the semi-final against Ajax to fire his side into the final.

Talking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show (talkSPORT, Thursday, 7am) Ally McCoist said that Harry Kane will play in the final and that Lucas Moura would be dropped.

“No, you can’t,” said Brazil. “Right away, transfer, he’s off.”

“I’m afraid the hat-trick hero is getting left out,” replied McCoist.

“That’s a shocker,” Brazil said.

“What happens if they lose 3-0 and Harry Kane doesn’t start?” asked McCoist.

“You would leave a hat-trick hero out?” countered Brazil.

“I’m telling you right now Kane’s playing. He’s playing,” said McCoist.

OPINION

If Kane is fit, it will present Pochettino with a real selection dilemma. A good one, admittedly, but one that could give him a real headache. Kane will have no match fitness after not playing since April. If Pochettino starts him and he blanks then he’ll be criticised for putting him straight back into the team. If he doesn’t start him and Tottenham lose he’ll be criticised for not playing his star player. Kane will be desperate to play in the biggest game of his career so far, but so will Moura. And Moura will be convinced that he’s done plenty to get in the team after single-handedly getting his side into the final after scoring the hat-trick against Ajax. It’s a poser that Pochettino will only come out on top of if Tottenham lift the Champions League trophy. We think Kane will start on the bench. What a player to introduce in the second-half! Pochettino surely can’t drop Moura after his performance in the semi-finals.
