Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds United chiefs that he wants to sign Jack Harrison on loan from Manchester City for another season if he remains in the Elland Road hotseat, according to Football Insider.

The reliable news outlet claims that Bielsa has been holding “extensive discussions” with Leeds’ top-brass over the last week about his own future, and during those talks, he has made it clear that he wants to sign Harrison, 22, again.

The England Under-21 international made 42 appearances on loan with the Whites this season and as he is reportedly valued at £7.5million by Man City, the chances are that the Yorkshire club would have to strike a second temporary deal to take the attacker back this summer.

Good move for Leeds?

Harrison is one of those players that the manager seems to like but the fans have no idea why.

The left-sided winger scored four goals and supplied just four assists in all competitions for Leeds this season and was widely criticised for most of his performances, especially as he was so inconsistent.

Leeds should be able to sign a better winger than Harrison this summer but Bielsa seems to enjoy having a closely-knit bunch of players, and having the £51,000-a-week [Spotrac] ace back would no doubt help him keep together his core squad.

If Bielsa wants him then fans should maybe trust that decision.
