Everton youngster Henry Onyekuru will join Bayern Munich this summer, not Galatasaray, according to Turkish sports news website Fanatik.

The outlet claims that the 21-year-old winger – who spent last season on loan at from Galatasaray – will be sold at the end of the season for £21.9m.

His reported destination, however, is Bayern, who have reached the end of positive talks with Onyekuru after a permanent deal with Galatasaray could not be agreed.

Fanatik also say that Bayern are looking for fresh attacking options after Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben both confirmed their departures, with Onyekuru – who  played a starring role in helping Galatasaray win the Super Lig with 14 goals and five assists – seen as a key target.

Good move for Everton?

Definitely. This is one move which will not harm Everton in the slightest. As Toffees boss Marco Silva pointed out in previous comments reported by Times journalist Paul Joyce, the club already have four wingers within their ranks and do not need another one adding to the pile-up. What’s more, it is not even as if Onyekuru can add a different dimension that the others can’t; he is right-footed like the other four in the team. It would be best to get Onyekuru off the books completely. His loan spell was magnificent, but there is just no way he will force Silva to think about giving him game time next season. If they get £21.9million it’s very smart business.

Likely to happen?

Most definitely. As the report from Fanatik points out, Bayern need some more attacking options after the departures of two club legends. While Onyekuru is only likely to be a squad player at the German champions, adding such a young talent will no doubt breathe new life into the attack. And after the season he has just had in Turkey, he will be raring to go again next season. Overall, a good move for Bayern.
