Barcelona B striker Rafa Mujica will join Leeds when his contract runs out in June, according to journalist Angel Garcia (via Marca).

The 20-year-old can play on either wing or through the centre and has scored seven goals in 33 games this season.

Garcia has claimed that the forward has already agreed a deal for Leeds.

Marca state that “Mujica initially came through Las Palmas’ youth system before joining Barcelona’s La Masia academy in 2015”.

OPINION

Leeds have been looking for a new attacker and came close to landing Dan James in the January window. However, that fell through and it looks like James’ value has soared with Man United reportedly close to a deal. A deal for Mujica would make a lot of sense and there isn’t a better club to go to at the moment for a young player who wants to develop. The chance to play under Marcelo Bielsa would be very tempting and Leeds are now just two games away from the Premier League. Mujica is out of contract in June and would make a lot of sense financially. Leeds are building up a brilliant cache of young players, with Jamie Shackleton the latest to impress in the first-team. He came on for Adam Forshaw in the first leg of the play-off semi-final against Derby and will likely start on Wednesday after Forshaw was ruled out of the second-leg. We don’t know a lot about Mujica but the journalist claims Victor Orta has spent a lot of time watching him.
