COMMENTARY
He might have considered himself a little lucky to be on the pitch against Norwich City after last week’s controversy but Aston Villa’s Conor Hourihane did not shy away from the limelight on Sunday, this time letting his football do the talking. The midfielder was commanding in the centre of the park throughout but it was his delivery from out wide, most notably for Villa’s equaliser from Jonathan Kodjia, which had the supporters drooling over his performance. His cross from the free kick was inch perfect and gave Norwich all sorts of problems in trying to defend it. The ball in was low, fast and perfectly placed, giving Kodjia exactly what he needed to stick the ball in the back of the net. With the play-offs right around the corner it is important that these Villa stars stay in the groove and with Hourihane showing his ability yet again against the Canaries, Dean Smith can feel pretty confident about his side’s chances.
