Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, is being considered by Barcelona if the Spanish giants fail to land Antoine Griezmann, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The France international is being lined up as a possible option for the La Liga champions, but Barcelona will prioritise fellow Frenchman Griezmann.
Lacazette was named Arsenal’s player of the season, and has scored 13 goals and assisted 10 in the Premier League this campaign – his impressive form has not gone underneath the radar. He has described the Barcelona interest as “flattering”.
Good move for Arsenal?
Losing a player of Lacazette’s ilk would be a disaster for Unai Emery. The Frenchman’s strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was one of three Premier League golden boot winners yet still failed to win player of the season for Arsenal – this shows just how crucial Lacazette is to the Gunners. He is worth so much more to Arsenal than just the goals that he provides, Arsenal failed to achieve Champions League football and losing Lacazette would simply making achieving that goal more unrealistic next term. Up front is one area of the pitch where Arsenal are still actually any good

Likely to happen?
Given that Griezmann is Barcelona’s main target, Lacazette may not even be brought into the line of thinking if the Spanish champions land their man. Arsenal are not in a position where they need to sell their best players, however once Barcelona come calling they’re very difficult to shun. Arsenal must hold onto the Frenchman at all costs, losing him would be catastrophic. This one is unlikely.
