Charlie Adam has delivered his prediction for the Champions League final, claiming that Liverpool’s domestic form makes them the favourites over Tottenham in Madrid on June 1st.
Spurs have lost on both occasions that they have faced the Reds this season, and former Anfield midfielder believes that they could suffer a repeat of that result a week on Saturday.
Speaking on talkSPORT (May 21st, 9.15am), he said: “I would fancy Liverpool. The record they’ve got in the Premier League, somebody has to lose, it’s just a shame with 97 points.
“But Tottenham are a good side, there’s no getting away from it.
“It’s going to be a good final.”

You fear that Adam might be right on this one. On paper, the final is Liverpool’s to lose. This is an irresistible side, capable of tearing teams limb from limb. If they get up and running early on, you worry for Spurs on the night, but that being said, this is knockout football. Nobody gave Spurs a chance against Manchester City. Nobody gave them a chance when they went so far behind against Ajax in the semis. This Champions League has thrown up shock and wonder round after round, and if there was ever a year for Spurs to go out and cause a bit of an upset in the final, this is it. Mauricio Pochettino will know that his boys are the underdogs to an extent, but he is wily enough to use that to his advantage, and you can’t help feeling that for all of the emphasis on this Liverpool side, the Champions League might just have one lats delicious twist to offer up before it’s done.
