Jamie Shackleton is on the rise.
He impressed massively in his breakthrough season for Leeds, making 24 appearances, and he’s now been rewarded with his first international call-up for the England Under-20s.
He’s “buzzing” – as he said in a Twitter message on Thursday – and plenty of Leeds fans are too, with hundreds of them flocking onto Twitter to respond to his message.

We’re expecting to see a lot more of Shackleton next season. He looked way older than his 19 years when he payed in the Play-Off semi-final. That didn’t work out so well for Leeds but Shackleton’s poise and confidence led to some fans saying that he’s going to be a future club captain.
He’s a versatile player, trained as midfielder, but able to play on the flanks or as a number 10. Money is going to be tight at Elland Road this summer – Radrizzani has already said that – but Shackleton could be like a new signing.
