OPINION
Joe Allen might not be the most glamorous of signings if West Ham did snap up the Wales international from Stoke in the summer, but he would surely be a better addition that some of these Hammers fans are making out. According to the Telegraph, Stoke are bracing themselves to lose some key players in the summer transfer window and even though Allen, 29, penned a new deal with the Staffordshire club last year, he is someone who could be targetted by West Ham. The London club has been linked with the Welsh midfielder in the past, and it seems as though the same thing is going to happen this summer as well. Allen is not as bad as these fans are making him out to be and the report only says that West Ham are “likely” to be interested in the playmaker. Manuel Pellegrini might not actually want the former Liverpool player, even though he might actually be a solid addition to the midfield.

Yep, Premier League winning manager Manuel Pellegrini has be scouring the championship & has decided that what we’re desperately missing is the previously linked bang, bang average Joe Allen out of all the other potential midfielders he could look at worldwide? pic.twitter.com/hkArt8Q68R
