OPINION
Christian Eriksen is one of the best playmakers in European football and even though he has not been at his best this campaign, Tottenham would be a much worse team without him if he left in the summer. As it stands, Eriksen will enter the final year of his deal at the end of the season, but according to an update by Goal, Spurs have made progress in talks to get the Denmark international tied down to fresh terms that could see his wages more than double. It is a major boost for Tottenham, and understandably, some fans on Twitter have lost their minds with excitement over the news that they have dubbed as “awesome”, “wonderful” and “fantastic”. Eriksen’s form might not have been as good this term due to the uncertainty over his future, but once there is clarity over where he is going to be playing next season, we may see the former Ajax ace back to his best.
