Tottenham suffered a tight 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, a result which did not affect their third place spot in the Premier League.

City avenged their Champions League exit in mid week thanks to a goal from Phil Foden, and Spurs will no doubt be looking to return to winning ways against Brighton on Tuesday.

In order to have the best possible chance of beating the Seagulls, Mauricio Pochettino must make three changes to the side that suffered the loss.

In goal, Hugo Lloris must replace Paulo Gazzaniga after being ruled out of Saturday’s clash, a relayed by Sky Sports.

The defence was pretty solid against City, with Jan Vertonghen making a few crucial blocks to prevent the scoreline being even higher. Juan Foyth also enjoyed a decent game, as did Toby Alderweireld.

The second change must come in the midfield, with Oliver Skipp coming into replace Eric Dier in the middle of the park. The £60,000-a-week [Spotrac] was woeful on Saturday, and looked really shaky during his time on the pitch. Christian Eriksen looked improved after a series of poor displays, which was encouraging to see.

Heung min-son was sublime, and was lucky not to have got on the scoresheet after causing the hosts a lot of problems. Lucas Moura also had an effort superbly saved by City goalkeeper Ederson, but he must make way for Fernando Llorente to have a run-out.

If Pochettino makes the right calls with his team on Tuesday, then there is no doubt that they will be able to annilihate Brighton.
