The curious case of Vincent Janssen took another twist on Tuesday when he came on for Spurs against Brighton, his first game-time for Pochettino in 20 months. In that time he had his squad number taken off him, was told his time at Spurs was at an end and was packed off on loan to Fenerbahce.

He didn’t look half bad, either, and we’d say he did more in the 11 minutes he was on the pitch than Fernando Llorente did for the whole of the game.

That’s why we’d give him a chance to show what he can do from the start against West Ham on Saturday.

He can’t do any worse than Llorente, who, according to WhoScored, totalled zero shots and zero shots against Brighton, winning just two aerial duels.

Heung-min Son is suspended for the Ajax game next week so he starts, alongside hat-trick hero Lucas Moura.

If Harry Winks or Moussa Sissoko win their fitness battles, Eric Dier will remain on the bench. Otherwise he gets the nod ahead of 27-year-old Victor Wanyama.

Danny Rose should start ahead of Ben Davies, who’s looked poor this season. Kyle Walker-Peters can give Kieran Trippier a rest ahead of the Champions League semi-final.

This is the side that will all-but secure a top-four finish on Saturday:
