With Harry Kane likely to be on the sidelines for a period after picking up an injury in the game against Man City on Tuesday, Tottenham fans are likely to see more of Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura and potentially Fernando Llorente in the coming weeks.

But there are some talented youngsters bubbling away underneath the first-team and 17-year-old striker Troy Parrott was trying to get himself noticed in Tottenham’s Under-18s clash yesterday.

They beat Chelsea 2-0 and Parrott scored both goals and some Spurs fans have called for Mauricio Pochettino to reward the youngster with a spot on the bench.

That seems like wishful thinking – Parrott hasn’t been on the bench before and Pochettino has shown no signs of looking past his current first-team squad when Kane’s been injured.

Llorente should get some game-time in a last-ditch bid to prove that his career at Spurs has legs. Vincent Janssen is more likely to get a look-in than Parrott but we can’t see him playing for the first-team again.

However, all Parrott can do is keep scoring. The boy’s obviously got talent and he’s one for the future, if not the here and now.

Here are the Tottenham fans who want him promoted sooner rather than later:
