It is not a surprise that these Arsenal fans have tore Mohamed Elneny to shreds in this 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday. There is perhaps a reason why he has only made six Premier League appearances before this one, as he really was rather awful in this game. Why Unai Emery decided to start him remains to be seen, especially with their chances of making the top-four hanging in the balance at the moment. They need to be beating teams like Palace, however, they did make a tough job of doing so on Sunday. Mesut Ozil equalised for the Gunners, but Elneny was really terrible – and there is without a shadow of a doubt that Emery will drop him for their next match against Wolves next weekend. It is no surprise that the Arsenal fans were full of criticism – this was a really diabolical display from the Egypt international.
