Rangers are convinced that they could be sitting on a goldmine with January signing Glen Kamara, according to Football Insider.

Kamara signed in January for just £50,000 after initially signing a pre-contract to head to Ibrox in the summer.

“We’ve been so impressed by Glen,” a club source told Football Insider.

“We knew he had to work on his fitness when he arrived and we’re now seeing what he’s capable of. He is strong, mobile, can shrug off challenges, drive forward with the ball, good feet…a dominant player in midfield, really.

“He can make Rangers serious money, there’s no doubt he’s a £10million player in the making, good enough to play in the Premier League.”

OPINION

The 23-year-old Finland international has made 12 Rangers appearances already and the only league game he hasn’t started in the last eight was their only defeat – the 2-1 loss to Celtic. Steven Gerrard said he was an “absolute steal” in the 3-1 win against Hearts at the weekend, and it sounds as if Rangers think that they’ve got a future star on their hands. He’s been getting better and better at Rangers, has already won nine caps for his country, and could be one of the best players at Ibrox next season if he lives up to his potential. That could come back to haunt Arsenal who let him go on a free to Dundee in the summer of 2017. They gave him a two-year contract which led to Rangers getting him for a bargain fee. They haven’t made the same mistake – Kamara signed a four-year contract with Rangers, that will keep him at Ibrox until 2023 or ensure the Scottish giants get a hefty fee for him.
