OPINION

Jermain Defoe has got a big chance to prove that he can lead the line for Rangers, with Alfredo Morelos suspended for four games after his red card in the Old Firm clash on Sunday.

We expect him to start up top and look to show Gerrard that if Morelos leaves in the summer, he can provide the missing goals.

Andy Halliday is also suspended and with Borna Barisic still injured that should mean a return for Jon Flanagan. He wasn’t good playing out of his normal right-back position earlier in the season but needs must and we can’t see Lee Wallace getting a look in.

They’re the only two changes we’re expecting, with Ryan Kent not set for a hearing following his incident with Scott Brown until Thursday. We expect he’ll get a two-match ban but Steven Gerrard will want to use him while he can against Hearts.

The rest of the team should stay the same – after Morelos got sent off on Sunday they were fantastic against Celtic. They could have gone on to win the game and they certainly deserved a draw. Their reward should be to go again against Hearts.

This is the starting XI we’re expecting Gerrard to put out against Hearts on Wednesday night:
