Zac Efron sent Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli a message on Instagram after Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Brighton on Tuesday.

The actor sent the Spurs star a message to thank him for the invite he received for the match and also took the time to congratulate Mauricio Pochettino’s side on a big win.

“Just touched down in #londontown and went straight to the pitch. Thank you @dele (Alli’s personal Instagram account) for the invite and congrats on a big win @spursofficial,” wrote Efron on his verified Instagram account.

OPINION

The Sky Sports cameras couldn’t get enough of Efron being at the clash against Brighton as they kept focusing their lens on him. In fact you would have guessed that it was the broadcaster who invited him to the match given that his new movie ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile’ is set to be on Sky’s cinema channels. However Efron revealed on his Instagram that it was Alli who invited him to Tuesday’s match. While the actor probably was excited to be at Spurs’ fancy new stadium, he didn’t exactly get to witness the most stellar performance by Pochettino’s team. Spurs had a frustrating day at the office as Chris Hughton’s side sat deep and just tried to chalk up a clean sheet in order to earn a valuable point. However thankfully for Spurs’ sake Brighton couldn’t do anything to stop Christian Eriksen scoring in the 88th minute to get his side a narrow win. With some important games coming up, Spurs will need to up their game and find a way to be among the goals even when sides try to shut up shop.
