There has not been one Wolverhampton Wanderers player who has let their side down this season and they will all be hoping that they are given the chance to repeat their achievements after the summer.

However the nature of football means that manager Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly be looking for improvements and upgrades in the transfer market after his first season in the Premier League, leaving members of the current squad wondering whether their place in the line up will still be there in a couple of months.

With the summer window just around the corner, speculation has began to build and Turkish outlet Sporx have stated that Nuno is keen on Croatian international defender Domagoj Vida, with a price tag of £13million said to be on the head of the experienced centre back.

It is a reasonable asking price for someone of his experience but the question on everyone’s lips will be where does he fit in, Wolves having one of the most impressive defensive lines outside the top six.

With a regular defensive trio of Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Ryan Bennett, one would have to find themselves in the firing line to make room for the current Besiktas star and unfortunately for the latter of the three, it would surely be him on the chopping block.

Boly has been a monster at both ends of the pitch while Coady is the man who expertly marshals his counterparts at the back and so neither are really going to be dropped by Nuno.

Bennett, while a solid performer, has not been as pivotal in their defensive efforts and if Vida were to arrive, there is little doubting he would be the one to make way – a cruel blow for someone who has been a loyal servant, but the simple state of affairs as Wolves look to take themselves to the next level.
