West Ham co-chairman David Gold and David Sullivan should gamble on signing Andrej Kramaric as he looks like being a risk worth taking.

According to Calciomercato the Hammers have made the 27-year-old forward a target after his clinical form in front of goal this season.

Kramaric has scored a very impressive 20 goals in 32 outings against all competitions for Hoffenheim this season and would easily be a big improvement on Manuel Pellegrini’s current attacking options.

The Hammers’ current crop of forwards haven’t been in prolific form this season, so it’s easy to see why the Hammers reportedly want Kramaric.

However Sullivan and Gold would likely have to take a risk on signing him as while he has proven in Germany that he is a glorified goal machine, his previous spell in the Premier League is a bit of a red flag for his credentials.

Kramaric only managed to feature 15 times for Leicester City in England’s top-flight, scoring two goals, and appeared to be quickly written off by the club.

While the Foxes seemed to act way too hasty when it came to getting rid of the forward and didn’t seem to give him his fair share of opportunities, they likely had their reasons.

Kramaric’s bad spell at the Foxes may be able to be put down to a lack of first-team chances being handed to him, but it might be he is just not suited for England’s top-flight.

There have been several great players who have excelled in leagues around Europe only to struggle to deliver the goods when playing in the Premier League.

Given that Gold and Sullivan will no doubt be made aware of Kramaric’s previous record in the Premier League when discussing who the Hammers should sign, they will surely have their doubts.

Yet given that Kramaric seems to have improved across the board since leaving the Foxes on a permanent basis in 2016, he’s worth gambling on as on paper he looks like he can cure the Hammers’ problems in front of goal.
