OPINION

Tottenham are preparing to play the rest of the season without talismanic striker Harry Kane after it was confirmed he had suffered “significant” ankle ligament damage in the match against Man City on Tuesday night.

It leaves Mauricio Pochettino with a choice of the in-form Heung-min Son or Fernando Llorente up top. With the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday he could go wither way, but we think Son will get the nod.

Dele Alli is also a doubt for the game after fracturing his hand but we think he’ll make it and play with some sort of protective cast. Lucas Moura should come in to provide even more attacking threat to the side. The Champions League game might be huge but the easiest way for Spurs to be playing there again next season is via the top-four and they won’t want to slip up tomorrow.

If Alli doesn’t make it, we could see Llorente playing up top with Son in behind.

We think Pochettino will go with a back-four against Huddersfield, with Ben Davies coming back in for Danny Rose. The on-going injury to Serge Aurier means Kieran Trippier should line-up on the right, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen in the middle.

Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Christian Eriksen should complete the outfield, with Hugo Lloris keeping the gloves in goal.

This is the starting XI we’re expecting to see tomorrow lunchtime:
