OPINION
It’s the crunch point of the season for Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino’s job is to balance his side and get the three points this afternoon, while keeping one eye on the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday. It was a bit of a makeshift side, with Juan Foyth on the right and Danny Rose in midfield, but Tottenham fans were far from impressed from one of their normally dependable players – Dele Alli. He hasn’t scored in the five games he’s played since coming back from injury and he looked completely off the pace this afternoon. He wasted a glorious chance early in the game when he tried to take the ball on himself instead of squaring to Heung-min Son, and several fans said he looked tired. One was more direct and said that Pochettino needed to “get him off”. That’s a little harsh but Alli is sdefinitely not on top form – he misplaced several passes and added little in a half that Spurs failed to find their feet. He’ll need to do a lot better in the second-half.
Here are the best reactions to Alli’s first-half display:
Sonny should have buried that, and Dele should do much better too #COYS #THFC #Spurs #TTID #TottenhamHotspur #TOTWHU #EPL #PremierLeague

I love Alli but I’ve always said this, he’s so slow when he’s got a lot of time
Should’ve crossed it to Son— Magic 3 (@SpursD22) April 27, 2019
