Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho sent Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks at supportive message after it was confirmed that he had surgery.

Spurs’ official Twitter account revealed on Monday that the 23-year-old central midfielder had undergone surgery and would now be monitored by the club’s medical staff while he continues his recovery.

Winks took to his personal Instagram account to share that he was absolutely gutted that he had to undergo surgery and shared he was determined to return to action as quick as possible.

“I’m absolutely gutted that I’ve needed to have surgery at such a vital point in our season,” wrote Winks.

“We’ve tried everything to avoid this action but I’m very hopeful that this is not the end of the season for me yet in what has been a great year for the team and me personally. I will be doing everything in my power to get back as quickly as possible. ”

“Thanks to everyone for the well wishes too, it really means a lot.”

After reading Winks’ social media post Sancho sent the Spurs player a four-worded message to wish him a speedy recovery.

“Get well soon bro,” wrote the Borussia Dortmund winger via his verified Instagram account.

The two England internationals are having corresponding fortunes at the moment as while Winks has disappointingly suffered another injury set-back, Sancho is in red-hot form for Borussia Dortmund. The winger is wowing in each of his appearances for the German giants at the moment and is emerging as one of the hottest properties in football. However it’s good to see that he’s just not classy on the pitch but is classy off it by him taking the time to wish Winks his best. As for Winks, you can understand why the player is gutted that he has had to undergo surgery. The midfielder’s 2017/18 campaign was derailed by injuries and you felt that things were starting to look up for him this season regarding his bad luck with injuries. Ahead of getting sidelined for Spurs’ recent games due to injury, Winks had managed 40 appearances across all competitions. When featuring this season the 23-year-old had been able to remind everyone of how good he is.
