COMMENTARY
Liverpool beat Porto 4-1 on Wednesday to secure their place in the Champions League semi-final and several Reds players got praised by supporters as a result. One of these players was none other than defender Virgil van Dijk. The centre-back left many Reds fans in awe of him as he submitted the type of accomplishment performance that supporters have come to expect. Van Dijk may have had a nervy opening 20 minutes, which one Reds fan noted, but after he settled that it was business as usual. The 27-year-old was strong in the tackle, calm when passing the ball forward and barked orders at those around him to ensure everyone stayed focus. It’s no surprise that the Reds fans below weren’t debating Van Dijk’s performance but were discussing where he ranked in the world, even the universe, compared to other defenders. Van Dijk has proven to be key for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season and if he can stay fit and maintain his impressive form then silverware surely beckons.

Alisson and VVD can defend Porto virtually on their own, that's how class they are.
