OPINION
A photo supposed to be Liverpool’s new 19/20 New Balance kit hit Twitter on Monday and it has split fans down the middle. The photo was leaked by Footy Headlines, a site that specialises in new kits and boot releases, and shows a clean red, gold and white design, with thin stripes down the front and white markings around the collar and sleeves.
BeIN Sports journalist Tancredi Palmeri posted it on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon and said it reminded him of the 1984 European Champions kit – ‘Therefore it’s brilliant’ – and a Liverpool fan also picked up on the similarity.
New Liverpool kit is practically the same of Liverpool 1984 European champions.

However, you can’t please all the fans all the time with a new kit and retro designs like this always split the audience. One simply said it was “abysmal” while another said they needed to drop either the white or gold and lose the pinstripes – so pretty much everything that makes the design unique apart from the red then!
That truly is abysmal

Contrasting white and yellow doesn't do it for me. One or the other…….and drop the pinstripes. Otherwise it's a decent shirt

This could be the last New Balance Liverpool kit, with 19/20 being their next season and for one fan, the new deal can’t come soon enough.
thats what we get if we stay with new balance? just sign the nike deal then

Other fans were more positive, with one saying he was “loving the retro kit” while another said simply “Love it!”.

However, overall, there are more negative reactions than positive. There’s been no official confirmation that this is the actual 19/20 kit, but Footy Headlines has a good record when it comes to revealing new strips.
The Liverpool fans below will be hoping it’s not the official kit. We have to say that we like it and it’s always hard to tell with new kits until you see the players wearing them. It’s a cautious thumbs up from us.
Have to say this kit looks terrible. Maybe it’s a great time for a change to Nike or whoever we move to https://t.co/ifwffR2YiQ
