Leeds United are in pursuit of Liverpool and Wales winger Harry Wilson after his brilliant campaign on loan at Derby County this season, according to Football Insider.

The reputable news outlet claim that the Whites have been tracking the 22-year-old forward for some time and are keen on snapping up a deal this summer with his future at Anfield said to be in doubt.

Wilson, who has nine caps for Wales, has been in fantastic form with the Rams in the Championship, netting 14 goals across all competitions, and is said to be joined by fellow Liverpool man Ryan Kent, who is currently on loan at Rangers, on Leeds’ radar ahead of the summer window.

Good move for Leeds?

Wilson has been turning heads all season and is no doubt going to be in demand when the summer comes around, so it should come as no surprise to see Leeds linked with his capture.

The Whites could do with some more cutting edge up front to bolster the likes of Pablo Hernandez and Jack Clarke, and Wilson would certainly bring something special to the side.

His ability to play on either wing as well as through the middle as an attacking midfielder means that he ticks a lot of boxes for Marcelo Bielsa, while his ability from set pieces is already well known.

He would be a real coup for the Elland Road outfit.

Likely to happen?

The issue here is of course the club’s battle for promotion to the Premier League.

Failure to secure a place among England’s elite will leave their hunt of Wilson dead in the water, the Welsh star likely to be seeking game time in the top flight next season.

However, get promoted and Wilson is a high quality but realistic target that could make all the difference next season.
