Adrian Durham took a sly dig at West Bromwich Albion fans while giving his opinion on Brighton manager Chris Hughton.

The talkSPORT broadcaster claimed it could be easily argued that the Premier League club had a decision to make regarding Hughton’s future as they’ve been in terrible form and sit fourth from bottom.

After stating this, Durham quickly urged West Brom fans not to ring in about him suggesting that Hughton should fear the sack, as he pointed out Brighton were fourth from bottom not fourth in the league.

“You could easily argue, given the form that they’re in which is terrible, is there a decision to be made about the manager?” said Durham on talkSPORT (Wednesday, April 17th, 17:42).

“They’re fourth from bottom, and before West Brom fans ring in, they’re not fourth from top, they’re fourth from bottom.

“I’m not saying he will go as I think he will lead them to safety as Cardiff will probably go down, but I think he has to change a little bit, he has to change to not necessarily go attacking, but be a little less defensive.”

Durham previously went on a long rant on talkSPORT to question West Brom’s decision to sack Darren Moore when the club were sat fourth in the Championship.

OPINION

Durham’s war of words with West Brom supporters never ends, well at least that’s what it feels like. The broadcaster was very quick to shutdown the idea that West Brom fans could ring in and call him a hypocrite after questioning Hughton’s future at Brighton, and it was just another odd dig to take. Durham clearly isn’t popular at the Hawthorns after his rant about Moore suggested the manager’s sacking was an example of subliminal racial bias. West Brom fans responded to his opinion by unveiling a banner during the club’s 1-0 win over Brentford that reiterated the club looked at the badge on the chest, not the colour of someone’s skin. Yet despite both parties having their say and their opinion, it seems the bad vibe between Durham and West Brom supporters isn’t going anywhere. There was no need for Durham to mention West Brom when talking about Brighton’s troubles, and it seems he won’t let this weird feud go.
