Adrian Durham visited Tottenham’s new stadium for the first time on Tuesday and revealed he was very impressed.

The talkSPORT broadcaster was in attendance of Spurs’ 1-0 win over Brighton and documented how impressed he was with the club’s stadium on his Twitter account.

“I’m back on Drive tomorrow, currently in the away end . The hype is right, it’s a great stadium. Staff wear tshirts of the away side, battered tofu and chips is £7.95, fish n chips are delish, beer v good, & that stand opposite is breathtaking. My view tonight,” wrote Durham.

“Battered tofu is not a joke, no. Nothing wrong with catering for vegans. Fair play Spurs. Zoom in you’ll see the badge on the staff uniform, and the tofu on the menu board. Food and drink exceptionally good, unusual at football.  ,”

Despite claiming the hype was right about Spurs’ stadium, when on talkSPORT on Wednesday Durham took a dig at Spurs about their ground by claiming it was too good for them.

“The stadium is too good for Tottenham, it deserves a team winning Premier League and Champions Leagues regularly,” said Durham on talkSPORT (Wednesday April 24th, 16:50).

OPINION

Durham can’t help himself. The broadcaster was particularly in awe of Spurs’ ground on Tuesday yet by the time Wednesday came around, he found a reason to have a moan. Granted Durham was provoked on this occasion into firing a dig in Spurs’ direction as a fan did text in to ask what was the catch regarding the broadcaster’s praise, but he could have risen above the bait. Durham regularly takes cheap shots at Spurs and yet supporters still seem to be intrigued by his opinion. It’s unclear why Spurs fans take time to catch what the broadcaster says about their club as he’s never going to be 100% positive about them. However if you ignore his dig about Spurs needed to win trophies to justify their spectacular stadium, his praise shows just how impressive it is. While Durham bizarrely focuses on the food being served, praise is praise, especially when it coming from one of the club’s harshest critics.
