Adrian Durham heaped praise on West Ham playmaker Felipe Anderson after Darren Gough highlighted the Brazilian’s performance against Tottenham.

The talkSPORT pair were discussing the Hammers following their 1-0 win over Spurs and highlighted several players.

Durham started off by raving about defender Issa Diop but once Gough mentioned Anderson, the talkSPORT host revealed his admiration for the player by dubbing him a joy to watch and underrated to those outside of West Ham.

“I’m glad you pointed out Anderson as he is a joy to watch at times and I think he has actually been underrated this season outside of West Ham and they missed him when he was out,” said Durham on talkSPORT (17:38, Monday April 29th).

OPINION

Calling Anderson is really odd and shows how in awe Durham is of the player’s talents. There’s no denying that the 26-year-old winger has been sensational at times this season across his 39 outings, but it’s highly unlikely others aren’t aware of this fact. In fact Anderson’s form has been so widely spoken about that he has even attracted the attention of Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports, ahead of the summer window opening. Given this, is the 26-year-old’s ability really one of the Hammers best kept secrets? Surely not. Also the Hammers paid a notable sum to sign him from Lazio in the summer, and surely that implies how highly he was rated in European football ahead of jumping over to the Premier League. However while Durham is barking up the wrong tree to call Anderson underrated this season, he is right about the Brazilian being a joy to watch.
