COMMENTARY
Olivier Giroud got on the score sheet for Chelsea in his side’s 4-3 victory over Slavia Prague on Thursday and it left several Blues supporters drooling over his display. One even claimed the the 32-year-old was the Champions League equivalent of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Europa League, implying that he always delivered the goods in the tournament. While a lot of Chelsea fans opted to praise Giroud’s first-half performance rather than his second-half display that shouldn’t really be held against him. The Blues dropped their performance across the board in the second half of the match as they took their foot of the pedal after establishing a comfortable lead. While that lead was quickly cut back, in the end it didn’t matter as the Blues did enough to progress to the next round. As for Giroud, while he wasn’t playing against top-tier opposition on Thursday, one Blues fan was completely right to suggest the 32-year-old should be appearing more in the Premier League.

We look better with Giroud as the focal part of the attack. The others play off of him. #CFC #CHESLA HT 4-1

Pedro has taken the game by storm. He could've had 3 goals if that wouldn't have hit the post & off Deli. Also has an assist.
Giroud also having a good run.
Hazard looks light

Half-Time Thoughts:
– Crazy first half.
– Goals galore, rollercoaster defending though.
– Pedro stepping up once again.
– Giroud aka 'Thursday Night Ronaldo' delivering as per usual.
– Get Hazard off now.
