COMMENTARY
Norwich went into their game with Stoke knowing if they collected the three-points and one of Leeds or Sheffield United failed to win, they would secure promotion to the Premier League. After a cagey opening quarter at the BET365 Stadium, nerves were lowered when Onel Hernandez hit a sweet strike from the edge of the box which beat Jack Butland at his near post to the dismay of the home support. Before his goal which opened the scoring against Stoke, the winger had missed a couple of opportunities to open his account which led to a few grunts in the away end, but he emphatically made amends to put the Canaries in prime position to secure promotion if not today then definitely next weekend. Many fans were quick to jump to twitter to react with one even claiming Hernandez is the ‘Cuban Pele’, he has a lot more to do before substantiating those claims but firing Norwich to the top flight will certainly help.
