Leeds are eying a bargain swoop for Forest Green Rovers attacker Reece Brown, according to Football Insider, and he could be another brilliant addition for Victor Orta at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old, a former England Under-20 international, has enjoyed a standout season, scoring 10 goals and adding 14 assists in 46 games across all competitions – and he offers the attacking threat that Leeds have really lacked in the second-half of this season.

His attacking prowess has already earned Forest Green a play-off place and got him on the radar of clubs like Bristol City and Reading.

Leeds have reportedly made an approach to sign Brown, who is out of contract in the summer and would be available for a small compensation fee.

Football Insider claim that he’s considered one of the best free agents in the Football League and he won the League Two Player of the Month in March.

A local Gloucestershire journalist said that after a tough start to his Forest Green career, he’s now considered one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Forest Green want him to stay but that could well hinge on whether they go on to win promotion and whether Leeds solidify their interest with a concrete bid.

It would be very tough for him to turn down a move to Leeds and it’s said that they are interested in him whatever league Leeds end up in.
