Lewie Coyle is unlikely to have a future at Leeds United, despite enjoying a successful loan spell at Fleetwood, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that Leeds are ready to listen to offers for the 23-year-old right-back, whose contract expires in 2020.

The versatile player, who has played in both full-back positions, centre-back and in midfield, has spent the last two seasons at Fleetwood after coming up through the youth ranks at Leeds.

He is due back at Elland Road at the end of next month.

OPINION

There were plenty of Leeds fans who were calling for Coyle to be recalled from his loan in January, with injuries plaguing Leeds at the time. That was probably asĀ  good a sign as any that he had no future at Leeds, and this report seemingly confirms that. It’s a shame for the youngster, who would have been desperately hoping to make it at Leeds, but he’s made a good impression at Fleetwood, where he won the Players Player of the Year award at the end of last season. He’s been a mainstay in the side this season, making 42 appearances across all competitions. He’s a hard tackler and good on the ball, and there’s a chance that he might find a Championship club willing to take a punt on him. If not, there will be a home for him in league One after he’s impressed with Fleetwood. It looks like it’s the end of the road at Leeds, though.
