COMMENTARY
When Newcastle United winger Kenedy was given the chance for a rare run out against Brighton, due to an injury suffered by Ayoze Perez in the first half, the hope would surely have been that his absence from the side would fire him up into putting in a decent display. Unfortunately for the members of the Toon Army watching on, things could not have been further from the truth. The Brazilian has fallen well and truly down the pecking order and this performance shows exactly why, with the Chelsea loanee lacking in any sort of creativity or inventiveness in attack. The Newcastle faithful might have been able to accept that if he had been willing to put himself about more but it was not just the absence of a cutting edge which had the supporters tearing their hair out. There was no real work ethic to his performance and that is unforgivable for a professional footballer. He will likely not be at St James’ Park in the summer and judging by this display they will not be missing out on much.
This is Futbol has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ fuming tweets:
Rafa has to get rid of Kenedy.
Done nothing since he has come on.#BRINEW #NUFC— Our Hero (@Our_Hero_) April 27, 2019

@NUFC_Index Why is Kenedy on. He ain’t staying, we ain’t buying him and he ain’t much good. Nor is Atsu much good off the right. Surely Muto needed a run out. We own him and need to see what he’s got.

I agree. Strength of squad has been telling – Kenedy and Atsu is miles away from Perez and Almirón. Shelvey has to take this by the scruff of the neck.

Anyone remember when Kenedy was good?! #NUFC

It's like we are playing with 10 men with Kenedy on the pitch.#nufc
