OPINION
Two goals at home and double that away at Porto saw Liverpool canter through to the semi-finals of the Champions League where an absolutely mouth-watering clash with Barcelona awaits.
All of Liverpool’s power three got on the scoresheet last night, with Virgil van Dijk popping up for the last as Liverpool blew their opponents away, but not everyone in red put in a good shift and fans were particularly disappointed with Georginio Wijnaldum.
The battling midfielder started the campaign off brilliantly but has seemingly lost his form just as the business end of the season is approaching.
He was poor again last night, with one fan saying he was “sleep walking at the wrong time”.
Fabinho was the man in midfield for Liverpool last night and Jordan Henderson has been brilliant in recent games. It means that some Liverpool fans don’t want to see Wijnaldum playing when Liverpool take on Barcelona in the semis.
However, with Man City out of the Champions League after a dramatic game against Tottenham, there’s only one side now that can do the biggest double of them all. It’s exciting times for Liverpool.
