Sadio Mane was not at his flying best against Cardiff, but that does not seem to matter to some Liverpool fans, who were blown away by the Senegal international for his performance in the 2-0 win in South Wales on Sunday afternoon. Mane, 27, had plenty of chances to get himself on the scoresheet for Liverpool, squandering one really good opportunity to hit the back of the net in the first half. It wasn’t his finest of outings, but one supporter has gone as far to say that he was a “clear” man of the match against Cardiff. Joel Matip, Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum were surely Liverpool’s best three players against Neil Warnock’s side. Mane was average at best on Sunday. We cannot be too critical of him but he just wasn’t as good as these fans made him out to be. Hopefully he can improve in his next outing against Huddersfield on Friday night.
