Ask a number of Wolves fans where their team is strongest and you will no doubt have a multitude of answers to pick your way through.

Some might feel that their options at wing back, with the likes of Matt Doherty and Jonny hugely impressive all season, is the answer, while others would surely say that the attacking partnership of Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez is their biggest asset.

However, you can be sure that many would be heralding the men at the heart of the defence – namely Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Ryan Bennett – as their top performers all season, with Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss hardly the worst options to call upon as backup.

The trio of mainstays have been nothing short of exceptional all season and have been crucial in helping Wolves lead the chasing pack outside the top six – which is why the thought of a new big name centre back joining the club must have the fans scratching their heads.

However, that is exactly the situation that the Molineux faithful face, with TEAMtalk claiming that their side are looking at a move for Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof, the report going as far as to say that Nuno has given the green light for the club to make a bid in the summer.

On a wage of £120,000-a-week (source: Spotrac), the Swedish international will not come cheap and simply put, he is not exactly the most inspiring of centre backs.

At 24-years-old he has plenty more time to develop and grow but is he really any better than Wolves’ current options? Not in the slightest.

In fact, you can imagine Manchester United would rather have one of the Molineux stars on their books than Lindelof, even if he has been a mainstay at Old Trafford.

He is obviously someone Nuno likes the look of but those wages could be much better spent and with the current back three settled and performing expertly, he would surely have to wait on the bench before being given a starting chance.

Wolves splashed out on Adama Traore last summer and were burned as a result – surely they are on course for another blunder in the shape of Lindelof.
