Kieran Trippier will be allowed to leave Tottenham this summer if he can secure £50million for his services, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football news site reports that Daniel Levy is willing to greenlight his exit if he can get the eight figure sum for his signature, however, Trippier can only leave if Spurs sign a viable replacement.

The report adds that Levy has slapped a £50million price tag on the £65,000-a-week [Spotrac] player’s head due to the fact that he has proven experience both at club and international level with England.

Good move for Tottenham?

Trippier has not been in great form for Spurs this season, so it would be sensible to cash in on him this summer. What is the point in Levy keeping him if he is not contributing much to the team? It is a shame to see his form decline so much in recent times, but with Tottenham seemingly on course for another Premier League top four finish, Mauricio Pochettino needs top-quality players in his side.

Likely to happen?

Yes, this is likely to happen if Spurs can get the fee that they are demanding. However, £50 million seems a bit steep for someone who has been out of sorts recently. It remains to be seen whether a club will cough up that amount of money for a player who has not been in amazing form, and to be honest, it could be the one thing that could stand in Tottenham’s way of selling him.
