OPINION
After the madness of the Championship game between Leeds and Aston Villa on Sunday, came the relative calm of the Leeds end-of-season awards. That is, until director of football Victor Orta took to the stage. He started off innocently enough saying “You are all Premier League class” before screaming “Vamos Leeds carajo!” down the microphone. That translates as “Come on Leeds f***!” and the supporters on Twitter are absolutely loving his passion. You could say it’s exactly what Leeds need after automatic promotion was finally made mathematically impossible after Marcelo Bielsa ordered his side to let the Aston Villa players walk through them to equalise at Elland Road earlier in the day. They have to pick themselves up after that disappointment and lift themselves for a potential play-off final against, ironically, Aston Villa. One fan said that you can’t keep a lid on Orta’s passion with another saying he loves him more and more every day. It’s not the first time Orta’s passion has spilled over. He was caught on microphone at an empty Elland Road after one win this season, bellowing in triumph. He’s a man who’s been criticised for some of his signings, but no fan is questioning his commitment and passion to Leeds after last night.
Here are the best reactions to Orta’s war cry:
