OPINION
Leeds fans got some good news yesterday when Ipswich announced that they would be giving the Whites an extra 2,000 tickets for the final game of the season at Portman Road.
Ipswich said they had to wait until after they were relegated but said they had been “inundated” with ticket requests from Leeds fans and that they had made the extra seats available after talks with police and safety advisers.
Depending on how results go, this could be the game that finally sees Leeds return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004 and demand for the tickets are sky-high.
The official Leeds Twitter account replied to Ipswich saying “Nice one” and revealed that they would provide more information on how the tickets will be allocated on Wednesday and it put desperate fans into a frenzy.

It’s been incredibly hard to get tickets for any of Leeds’ games in the season run-in and many fans demanded that the club reward loyal supporters, with one saying, “Don’t you dare put it on general sale”.
However, others were pointing out that 2,000 extra tickets won’t go far and that if Ipswich gave them the whole ground it wouldn’t be enough. Another said he’d sit on the roof of the stadium if he could.
Lots of fans were putting their own case forward for tickets, with one saying Leeds should open it to full season ticket holders, while another said they should prioritise fans who had season tickets while the club were in League One. One even tagged in Andrea Radrizzani, saying it should be for fans who have been to at least 10 away games this season.
One thing is certain – whatever they decide to do, some fans are going to be left sorely disappointed.
Here are the best reactions to the ticket announcement:

Nowhere near enough we would sell 10/12k

@andrearadri so long as it’s based on loyalty for those that have attended 10 or more away games

Surely this has to be loyalty regardless of the extra allocation? To see fans that have travelled up and down the country for years to miss out on potentially our biggest away day for well over a century would be unfair.

This takes our allocation to 4200? 2800 to loyalty and 1400 open to ST would be fair
