Leeds United are ready to receive offers from Spain for Samuel Saiz in the summer transfer window, according to Marca.

The Spanish news outlet claims that Getafe, who signed Saiz on loan in January, are yet to decide whether they will sign the 28-year-old on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

Saiz has made just eight appearances in all competitions since joining Getafe in the winter transfer window, and it does not look as though the La Liga club will be taking up their option to buy the playmaker.

However Leeds are expecting there to be offers for the ex-Huesca ace in the summer, with El Gol Digital previously reporting that Valencia are interested in signing him.

OPINION

It is very unlikely that Saiz will still be a Leeds player next season. Even if Getafe opt against signing the midfielder, someone else in Spain will more than likely pick him up with Valencia looking as though they are hot on his heels. Valencia, who are owned by billionaire Peter Lim, would surely be a hard team to turn down if they come calling from Saiz’s point of view. They are one of the most historic clubs in Spanish football and even if it means Saiz is unlikely to play much football, he is bound to want to join them. Saiz needs to focus on getting his career back on track though because since joining Getafe, he has hardly played and he would still be part of a promotion push to the Premier League if he didn’t decide he wanted to leave in January. Valencia will attract Saiz like a moth to a flame, but the Leeds-owned ace should definitely give some logical though to his next move and what implications it could have on his career.
