Steven Gerrard confirmed today that Rangers would be active in the summer transfer window, and Hastie is a fine addition to the fold. Adding some youngsters is a great move now, with players like Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis providing the experience and the knowledge for young players to learn from. The Hastie move to Rangers has been on and off this year, but this seemingly confirms that the youngster will end up at Ibrox over the summer. It’s a loss for Motherwell and the player has chipped in with 11 goals and seven assists in 41 games across all competitions this season. Since his return from Alloa he’s scored six goals and shown that he’s got a big future ahead of him. Lee McCulloch heaped praise on the youngster earlier this week saying, “Rangers signing Jake Hastie is not a gamble. It is a bit of a no-brainer to be honest and he will go on to be a great bit of business for them in the coming years.” We agree. This deal is a big one for Rangers and it shows that Gerrard is taking the team in the right direction.
