Cesc Fabregas has taken a swipe at Tottenham, claiming that the North London club will not win any silverware this season despite reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League this week.

Spurs have been widely criticised for their lack of silverware during Mauricio Pochettino’s time in charge, however they are into the last four of Europe’s most prestigious competition, where they will play against Ajax.

After being asked if he is not getting much game-time by Graham Roberts, former Arsenal and Chelsea star Fabregas hit back at the Spurs legend in a brutal manner.

“I don’t know who you are and I don’t know if I’m getting enough game time or not but I do know you won’t win anything again this season,” the Monaco midfielder said via his personal Twitter account on Friday night.

OPINION

Arsenal and Chelsea are both in the Europa League. Tottenham are still in the Champions League. Which of those is a more impressive achievement? It goes without saying. Chelsea have had to beat Slavia Prague, Dynamo Kiev and Malmo to get this stage of the Europa League while Arsenal have had a comparatively tougher run of Napoli, Rennes and BATE Borisov. Tottenham on the other hand qualified from a group which contained Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV and have seen off Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in the knock-outs. If Spurs do not win the Champions League, it will not be a disgrace. Chelsea and Arsenal are expected to win the Europa League – it will not be a massive achievement if they do it. Spurs will create history if they even reach the final while their London rivals will be lost in the long list of Europa League finalists that no one really cares about unless it’s your club.
