It was a sight that the majority of Aston Villa fans would not have wanted to see so close to the end of the season.

Striker Tammy Abraham injured himself in the process of scoring Villa’s second goal in their 2-0 win over Bolton on Friday, with the 24-goal forward holding his shoulder in the aftermath – and that is something that they definitely do not need with the Championship play-offs coming up.

The Express and Star report that he could be a big doubt for their clash against Millwall on Monday, which means that somebody else will have to take the step up and deliver the goods of Abraham does end up injured.

That player will no doubt be Keinan Davis, who came on for Abraham in the 60th minute on Friday, and it may be a rare opportunity for him to become Aston Villa’s hero this season.

Villa are almost certain to qualify for the play-offs, and even though they will be slightly weakened if Abraham is not there, Davis now needs to step up to the plate and show that he is able to perform on big occasions.

He has only made five appearances in all competitions this time, and it is no surprise in the slightest that he has had to play fringe role with a teammate like the Chelsea loanee, who is currently in the best form he has ever been in.

Davis, 21, may raise many eyebrows if the has to take Abraham’s place in the team, as after all, the fans have not seen much of him – but if he can score the goals that send Villa on their way to the Premier League, then he will surely become a new club hero.
