Steven Gerrard is predicted to make one change to Rangers’ starting line-up ahead of their clash against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday afternoon.

Ross McCrorie could return to the side to add a bit more defensive steel to the midfield as Hearts, on their home turf, are bound to be a much tougher test for the Gers than Motherwell were last time they played.

On-loan Southampton midfielder Steven Davis might be the player who is axed to make way for young McCrorie as Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara have been two of the club’s most in-form midfielders in recent weeks.

Allan McGregor has been a mainstay in goals all season and is bound to start against Hearts behind an unchanged back-four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan.

McCrorie, 21, could start at the base of a midfield trio with Kamara and Jack ahead of him in the more advanced positions.

Daniel Candeias is predicted to start on the right wing while Scott Arfield, who scored a hat-trick in the 3-0 win at Motherwell last week, is more than likely going to be retain his spot on the left wing with Ryan Kent suspended.

Alfredo Morelos is also banned for the trip to Edinburgh so Jermain Defoe could be named to start as the lone striker by Gerrard.
