Peter Crouch has been blown away by the performances of Heung-min Son this term and has named the Tottenham forward in his team of the season – ahead of Mohamed Salah.

Son, 26, has been in stellar form for Spurs, scoring 20 goals and supplying 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for the North London club.

On Wednesday night, the South Korea international scored two goals against Manchester City to help send Spurs into the semi-finals of the Champions League as his fine form without Harry Kane in the side continued.

Ex-Tottenham striker Crouch is serious impressed by Son, and believes that he deserves a spot in his team of the season.

“He is one of those forwards who has changed the game; a relentless runner with such brilliance and pace. He can score, too, as he showed at Manchester City on Wednesday. He has stepped up for his team and is a serious player,” Crouch said on the Daily Mail website as he named his team of the season.

OPINION

Who doesn’t love Son? He is one of the most widely-adored top-six players, and you can totally see why. Not only is he a very good footballer, he just seems like a really decent down to earth bloke. The former Bayer Leverkusen player has had three international tournaments with South Korea since the end of last season yet he is still pulling up trees in North London, starting every game for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and putting in shifts that are worthy of man of the match awards. Crouch has named Son in his team of the season, and he should be featured in many more pundits as they all start to offer their opinion on who has been the best of the best in 2018/19. Son will surely get into the official team of the season, but if not, it will only be because of someone like Salah being picked ahead of him. Salah has not been at his best for Liverpool this term, but he is still a fantastic player. Son has matched him for Tottenham though.
