Colin Hendry has predicted that Rangers will win 10 titles in a row before Celtic will.

However that’s not even the most embarrassing part of Hendry’s prediction because he claims that the Hoops’ current run of Scottish Premiership titles doesn’t count because they won four of them when Rangers were not in the league.

According to the former Gers defender, Celtic’s achievements only matter if they are won against the Ibrox club, which is quite simply ridiculous.

Neil Lennon has the Bhoys on the verge of an eighth title on the bounce, but Hendry claims that it will only be their third one.

“My response to ten-in-a-row is this — Celtic have got two-in-a-row,” he told the Heart and Hand podcast, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“They would need to win another eight to get to ten. Do I think there’s a chance they could win another eight before we win the league title? No.”

Hendry added: “As far as Rangers are concerned Celtic don’t have six-in-a-row, they’ve got two.

“They’ll never get ten, never get to ten. They won’t even get close.

“I think there is more chance of Rangers winning ten-in-a-row than Celtic winning ten-in-a-row.”

As far as Rangers are concerned? What Celtic achieve has nothing to do with Rangers.

The Old Firm rivalry is one of the biggest in world football but to rubbish the entire achievements of one club just because another club decided to get themselves liquidated is nothing but nonsense.

What about every cup final that Rangers have won when they have not had to beat Celtic on the way to the final?

What about Celtic’s 1967 European Cup win? They did not have to play Rangers then because they weren’t involved. Does that not count as an achievement either?

Hendry’s claim sounds like nothing but bitterness.

Celtic are going to win 10 titles in a row and even if Hendry claims that they have only won two in a row, the chances are that the Hoops will win the next eight over Rangers anyway.

This really is one of the most ridiculous outlooks on Celtic’s title dominance in Scotland.
