Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes that Leeds will just have enough to sneak a vital win against Birmingham on Saturday.

Writing in his regular column on Sky, Prutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, a result that will keep them in the automatic promotion spots.

“Birmingham would have been so disappointed not to go on and win at West Brom, having led twice in that game, because it would have been such a huge boost at a vital time,” Prutton wrote.

“They turned up at Elland Road and beat Leeds in the reverse fixture this season, but Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be riding high after climbing back into the top two. They should have enough to sneak this one.”

OPINION

It’s worrying times for Birmingham fans. Deducted nine points, they’ve been plunged into a potential relegation battle and they’ve now lost their last five games in a row. That’s not the sort of form that’s going to give you much hope against one of the Championship’s high flyers, but in Che Adams, Birmingham have a striker who can hurt anyone – 21 goals in 39 league games proves that. However, Leeds have hit top form just at the right time, with six wins in the last eight league outings, and they welcome back their own top-scorer, Kemar Roofe, for the clash tomorrow. We don’t know whether he’ll start or make the bench, but his return will be a big boost for Marcelo Bielsa’s men. They know they’ve got to win or potentially give up their second spot to rivals Sheffield United, and we can’t see past a Leeds away win either – but we think it will be close and another 90 minute rollercoaster ride for the expectant away fans.
