Laurens De Bock will be forced to find a new club in the summer and will not feature in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans according to Football Insider.

The reputable news outlet claim Leeds will look to sell the left back who has been on loan at Belgian side K.V. Oostende for the season.

De Bock failed to make an impact at Elland Road, only making seven appearances at the club, in which time Leeds did not win a single game.

Marcelo Bielsa wants to sell the Belgian defender regardless of what division the Whites find themselves in next season.

De Bock arrived for £1.5million from Club Brugge in January 2018 and has only made seven appearances – at a cost of £214,285 per game. It remains to be seen how much of that Leeds will be able to recoup.

OPINION

The decision to sell Laurens De Bock would have been a no brainer for all involved at Leeds. A player that was expected to make a huge impact at the club but eventually became a failure at Elland Road. It was clear from the outset that the Belgian was out of his depth in the Championship, and was full of mistakes in an already leaky back four at the time. The problem that will face Bielsa and Leeds is finding a club that will want to spend money on De Bock as his loan club K.V. Oostende have already agreed to purchase a new left-back in the summer. It may come down to a cheap sale in the end to get the flop off the wage bill and free up space for new incomings come the transfer window. De Bock has not given himself the best opportunity of finding a new club while out on loan either, with the full-back often being played out of position or on the bench. Leeds definitely need to sell De Bock but may struggle to a club willing to take him on a permanent deal.
