OPINION

The Leeds Under-23 success story carried on last night as they reached the final of the PDL National Play-Offs, beating Coventry 3-2 in extra-time.

There were several standout performers on the night but Leeds fans were blown away by Robbie Gotts, the young midfielder who has made the bench 11 times this season for the Leeds first-team but not made his debut yet.

After last night there are more calls for Marcelo Bielsa to give him a chance and it didn’t take long for Gotts to show his class, with the midfielder scoring the first goal for the Under-23s after neat build-up play from Izzy Brown and Jack Clarke.

Gotts showed that he’s versatile as well and he moved to left-back later in the game after an injury to Clarke Odour.

Coventry battled back to make it 2-2 in normal time but Leeds Under-23s weren’t to be denied and a brilliant strike from Kun Temenuzhkov sealed a memorable 3-2 win.
