OPINION

There are a couple of different scenarios at play for Aston Villa’s trip to Elland Road on Sunday, and they should dictate what team gets put out.

If Sheffield United somehow slip up against Ipswich on Saturday then it will be game on for automatic promotion again.

If not, Marcelo Bielsa must use the last two games of the season as a training ground for the play-offs and that’s the scenario we’re mapping out here.

It’s been a tough season and some players need a rest. Mateusz Klich and Luke Ayling can drop to the bench and let Jamie Shackleton and Izzy Brown prove what they can do.

Brown hasn’t played since (or before) his nine-minute cameo against QPR but he’s been impressing with the Under-23s again and he deserves the chance to play from the start before he head back to Chelsea.

We’re not feeling Patrick Bamford at the moment. His goals-to-games ratio is pretty good but he’s missing too many chances and he’s not effective up on his won. Kemar Roofe, who admittedly looked poor against Brentford, should come back in and try to get the form back that put Leeds at the top of the Championship, ahead of the play-offs.

Gaetano Berardi can fill in for the injured Ezgjan Alioski, Kalvin Phllips should come back in for Adam Forhsaw and the rest of the team should stay the same.

Here is the starting XI we think Bielsa should put out against Aston Villa:
